Argosy University is a system of schools owned operated by the Education Management Corporation (EDMC) that was formed in 2001 through the merger of three pre-existing institutions; the University of Sarasota, The Medical Institute of Minnesota and the American School of Professional Psychology. Currently the school system has nineteen campuses located in thirteen states, and provides wide variety of educational opportunities for its students.

Argosy University offers a number of certificate and degree programs, with degree programs starting at the associate level and extending to the post-doctoral. The school system specializes in health sciences, business and psychology. Argosy University's psychology program in particular is notable due to many of its member institutions having been pioneers in the field of study. The school is dedicated to providing quality education, but also places a high emphasis on professional competence, and thus much of the education provided is done so with a focus on practical application.
