Florida National University – Main Campus

Also known as LTI - Meadville

11618 Cotton Road, MEADVILLE, PA

Florida National University opened its first class on January 4th, 1988, in the city of Hialeah, Florida, as Florida International Institute under the administration of Dr. José Regueiro, Mrs. María C. Regueiro and Mr. Omar Sánchez. It offered business, computer, dental, electronics (now discontinued), medical, paralegal, and travel programs. The institution soon became Florida International College and finally in September 1989,Florida National College.

A second campus was initiated in Miami (Flagler Campus) on March 3, 1989; a third campus was opened in Miami(Bird Road Campus) on March 5, 1990. A fourth campus, the Online Learning Campus (distance learning), was initiated in 2005. Florida National College officially changed its name to Florida National University March 24, 2012, after receiving approval by its accrediting agency to offer programs at a more advance degree level. At the present time, FNU offers one Master Degree, seven Baccalaureate Degree Programs, twenty-two Associate Degree programs, nine Diploma Programs, and nine Certificate Programs.

An array of online degree and certificate programs exist from FNU.  Undergraduate programs currently include bachelor degree programs and associate degree programs.  The bachelor degrees offered by Florida National include criminal justice, business administration, accounting, health services administration, legal studies, respiratory therapy, natural science, psychology, and nursing.  Associate degrees include programs specifically designed for computer programmers, network systems administration, public administration, paralegal services, criminal justice, art, and computer information technology to name a few.  Graduate degree programs at FNU are conferred as a Master of Science (MS), Master of Arts (MA), Master of Business Administration (MBA), or MSN.

The campus-based degree programs and certificate programs are very similar to the online degree programs.  However, there are additional classes offered in a traditional classroom setting compared to online programs currently.  Diploma and certificate programs include a variety of tracks including English as a Second Language, Dental Assisting, AutoCAD, Medical Secretary, Dental Lab Tech, X-Ray Tech, and Customer Service.  Likewise, the associate degree programs and bachelor degree programs are offered in greater number than the online equivalent.  Choosing the best program for you will wholly depend on your personal priorities, career objectives, and overall goals.
