About
Thunderbird School of Global Management, located in Glendale, Arizona, was founded in 1946 by Lt. General Barton Kyle Yount, who recognized the need for international business leaders following the end of World War II. General Yount proceeded to establish Thunderbird, a school dedicated to international business and management education at the graduate level. The school is located on the former Thunderbird Field, an airbase once used to train American, Canadian, Chinese and British pilots, many historic remnants of which remain on the modernized campus. Since its founding the school has graduated over 38,000 students working in over 140 countries.
Academics
Thunderbird offers a number of graduate programs in the various field of international business. Programs are divided between professional and full-time, with professional programs geared towards individuals already working in business. These programs may take between 1-3 years to complete. Working professionals may utilize distance learning options in order to receive their degree. All programs are internationally oriented, keeping in line with the original purpose of the school.

Additionally, non-credit programs are available offering certificates in short courses that last between one day and two weeks. These courses focus on a particular area of business and help strengthen one's skill set as a manager.
Admissions and Financial Aid
Students interested in enrollment at Thunderbird School of Global Management must complete the application for admission, providing all pertinent test scores and transcripts. As a graduate institution, students must have earned a bachelor's degree prior to enrollment, though the degree need not be in business. All applications are reviewed on an individual basis, and students informed about acceptance soon after a decision is rendered.
Financial aid is available in the form of loans and currently only available to students enrolled in the original 19 month program. Currently the school is reviewing options to for the 12 and 36 month programs. Students in need of aid may contact the school to obtain assistance in financing a student loan.
