About
Barstow Community College, located in Barstow, California, was established in 1959 and began offering evening classes the following year at the local high school. The over the next few years the school offered classes at various locations including churches and high school, and moved to its permanent home once construction was completed in 1964. Classes at the new campus began in 1965. Since the Barstow has provided educational opportunities to rural Californians in the region and have expanded its offerings while remaining current in education and technological developments. Additionally, Nevada residents attending BCC are entitled to a reduced out of state tuition through BCC's good neighbor policy.
Academics
Barstow Community College offers vocational and technical offerings alongside transfer degree programs. Students interested in entering the workforce can take certificate programs in order to develop the skills necessary to successfully enter a chosen field. Transfer to four year institutions can be accomplished through transfer oriented degree programs.

Admissions and Financial Aid
BCC follows an open admissions policy. Students interested in enrolling must complete and submit the application along with any associated fees and required documents. Students can determine their eligibility for financial aid by completing and submitting the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Various forms of financial aid are available to students and awards are determined on a case by case basis.
Athletics
The BCC Vikings participate in variety of intercollegiate athletics. The school mascot is the Viking Warrior.
