About

The California Culinary Academy, located in San Francisco, California, was founded in 1977 to provide individuals with a quality culinary and baking education. The school utilizes Le Cordon Bleu methods for teaching alongside American technological innovations and is among the oldest culinary schools in the western United States. The school is nationally accredited by the Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges (ACCSC).

 

Academics

California Culinary Academy offers to programs of study. The school takes techniques formed by the Le Cordon Bleu School, founded in 1895, and combines it with American technology in order to create a blend of modern and classical tastes. The school confers associate degrees to individuals along with a Le Cordon Bleu diploma. The culinary arts program is 16 months long, and the baking and pastry program is 7 1/2 weeks long.

 

Admissions and Financial Aid

Students wishing to enroll at California Culinary Academy must complete and submit the application form along with the fee, provide proof of a high school diploma or equivalent, and participate in an interview with a representative. Once completed, the school will review the application, taking into consideration the interview, after which a decision will be made regarding admission.

 

Financial aid is available to students, and assistance and directions for applying for aid is available through the financial aid office located on campus. Students should make an appointment with an advisor to begin the process. There are deadlines for submissions, and as such students should complete the process as early as possible.
