About

The school is the only historically black college or university in the Miami area. The school officially changed its name to Florida Memorial College in 1963 and relocated to its current location in 1968. Admissions and Financial Aid

Undergraduate admissions require students to have a minimum GPA of 3.0 and an SAT score of 1000. A minimum of three letters of recommendation are also necessary and should be submitted along with the application for admission. Consideration may be given to students who do not meet the above requirements, though enrollment may be conditional and require a minimum GPA be maintained for continued enrollment. Financial aid is available in the form of loans, grants and work study programs. Students in need should complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) in order to determine eligibility and awards. Scholarships may also be obtained, requiring separate applications to the bodies which distribute the scholarships, and are awarded based on the scholarships purpose.
