History

The West Georgia Technical College was formed in 2008 through the merger of West Georgia Technical College and West Central Technical College as part of the Technical System of Georgia's consolidation of technical schools. The merger created the second largest technical college in Georgia which serves seven counties: Carroll, Coweta, Douglas, Haralson, Heard, Meriwether and Troup.

 

Academics

WGTC offers over 110 diploma, certificate and associates degree programs. The school is dedicated to offering a quality education and providing trained and qualified individuals to meet the needs of the business industry. WGTC serves the West Georgia community and assists in educating and improving the quality of life of its residents.

Admissions and Financial Aid

To apply to WGTC interested students should complete the application along with a $25.00 application fee, submit transcripts and test scores (SAT, ACT COMPASS and ASSET), students who have not taken these tests should take a COMPASS or ASSET test for placement. Student will be notified of acceptance status upon review. Degree and diploma health science programs have a more selective process for enrollment. Financial aid is available to interested students through the financial aid office.

 

Athletics

The WGTC Golden Knights participate in the GCAA division 3, offering athletics programs in baseball, women's softball, volleyball, and basketball.
