About

The Central Georgia Technical College was established in 1962 as the Macon Area Vocational-Technical School. Originally there was only the Macon campus, but in 1990 acquired with the Baldwin County Adult Center in Milledgeville which in turn became its second campus. Since then CGTC has opened 5 more learning centers in the remaining 5 of the 7 counties it serves.

Academics

CGTC's primary campuses in Macon and Milledgeville offer associate's degrees, diplomas and technical certificates. The remaining five learning centers in Eatonton, Forsyth, Gray, Jeffersonville, and Roberta offer only technical certificates and continuing education courses.

Programs offered include:

Central Georgia Technical College also offers assistance through its Academic Success Center. The center provides training in test anxiety relief, computer skills, and study methods. This training is provided through group sessions, one on one tutoring, or through practice at home. Student are encouraged to choose the method which best suits them.

Admissions and Financial Aid

All students must submit an application and pay a non-refundable $15.00 application fee, present documentation that they are lawfully in the US and have a high school diploma or GED.  If SAT, ACT or CPE scores are unavailable, students will be required to take a placement test.

Financial aid offices at the Macon and Milledgeville campuses will assist students who require financial aid in finding the resources to further their education.

Athletics

The pride og CGTC is the men's and women's basketball teams, known as the Central Georgia Cougars. The Central Geaorgia Cougars play in the NJCAA Division I and the Georgia Collegiate Athletic Association.
