About
Windward Community College, located in Kaneohe, Hawaii, on the island of O'ahu, was founded in 1972 to provide a variety of educational opportunities for residents on the island. The school maintains close ties to the community, holding annual festivals and being repository of Hawaiian culture and an educator of Hawaiian history. The school is one of ten campuses of the University of Hawaii System that operates all public post secondary institutions in the state.
Academics
Windward Community College offers a number of programs that allow students to pursue academic and career opportunities. Career training programs provide an education in a field or industry that allows for entry as a qualified professional upon completion. Programs take between one and two years to complete and result in a degree or certificate. Academic transfer programs provide a curriculum that mirrors the first two years of a four year program, followed by the application for transfer to a four year institution to complete their bachelor's degree.

Windward Community College is an open enrollment institution that allows any individual who is eighteen years of age or has earned a high school diploma to enroll by completing the application and paying all fees. Students should supply transcripts and test scores, as well as participate in new student enrollment and meet with a counselor prior to registration. Financial aid is available in the form of loans, grants and scholarships and are awarded based on need as determined by the information provided by the student in the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
