About
Rust College, located in Holly Springs, Mississippi, is the oldest of the eleven historically black colleges in the United States. Rust College was founded in 1866, and is the second institution of higher learning in the state of Mississippi. Rust College is a private liberal arts college, providing quality education a variety of fields. The school is affiliated with the Methodist Episcopal Church and was founded on a grant by the Freedman's Aid Society of the church.
Academics
Rust College provides study in 16 areas, available under five divisions: Business, Education, Humanities, Science & Mathematics, and Social Science. The school offers both majors and minors, and encourages students through pre-professional programs designed to prepare students for a graduate education. The school grants either an associate or bachelor degrees upon completion of a given program.

Admissions and Financial Aid
Students interested in enrolling at Rust College must have a reasonable GPA, ACT score, and have graduated from a high school accredited by a state or regional agency. Applying students must provide transcripts, letters of recommendation, and an immunization shot record. Applications will be evaluated when received and a response in regards to admissions will be sent once the review is completed. Financial aid is available in the form of state and federal grants, scholarships and loans. Students interested in receiving financial aid should contact the Rust College's financial aid department.

RUST COLLEGE is a historically Black, co-educational, senior liberal arts college founded in 1866 by the Freedman's Aid Society of The Methodist Episcopal Church. The College is related to the United Methodist Church, and dedicated to serve the students with a variety of academic preparations, through instruction in the humanities, social and behavioral sciences, natural science, business, technology and education. Rust College recognizes the three-fold functions of education as being teaching, research and community service. Its primary mission however, is teaching. It offers a well-rounded program designed to acquaint students with cultural, moral, and spiritual values, both in theory and in practice. Rust College provides an opportunity for education to all, regardless of race, religion, sex, national origin or ethnic background.
