About
State Fair Community College, located in Sedalia, Missouri, was founded in 1966 to serve the residents within the Sedalia's Community College District. The school serves 14 counties, and has since its inception grown and expanded its offerings to meet the needs of residents and the communities it serves. The school's name resulted from submissions by residents, upon the review of which State Fair was chosen. Public schools within Missouri have agreements in place with the school to maker transfer easy. Students may instead choose to apply to private or out of state schools, though it is recommended they meet with an academic advisor to plan a curriculum to best suits the transfer requirements of the school or school's desired.
Career programs offer the training necessary to become a professional within the workplace of a given field. Students will learn the skills and abilities required through practical and classroom courses. Such programs take between one and two years to complete, resulting in an associate degree or certificate that allows for the immediate pursuit of employment at the entry level. Many of the programs offered reflect the job needs of the community and the school offers job placement assistance to make finding employment easier.
