About

The Institute of Audio Research has provided individuals with an education in audio engineering for over forty years. Located in New York City, New York, the school provides students with an experienced faculty that has worked and continues to work in the music, audio and video industries. The curriculum offered is designed to prepare individuals for a career in audio engineering, imparting the skills necessary for success, including a strong foundation in the fundamentals of sound. Students who have studied at IAR have worked at various high profile studios and productions. One of the goals of the school is to acquaint its students with professionals to create industry connections that will assist in the longevity of a student's career.

 

Every student enrolled receives all the text books required along with an audio kit with all necessary materials for completion of the program. The cost of the kit is not included in the tuition price. Completion of the program results in a diploma in audio recording and production.

 

Admissions and Financial Aid

Students interested in enrolling at the Institute of Audio Research must be 18 years or older and have a high school diploma or GED. Students should contact the school to request a packet for more information and to set up a phone or personal interview with an admissions officer. IAR has rolling admissions with courses beginning throughout the year.

 

Financial aid is available to eligible students in the form of federal Pell grants and scholarship opportunities. To determine eligibility or apply for a scholarship individuals should contact an admissions officer.
