History

Schenectady County Community College was established in 1967 in Schenectady, New York. Initially located on the Van Curler hotel in downtown Schenectady, the school began to expand in 1978, adding more buildings, an auditorium, library and student center and more since. Currently there are plans to provide a student dormitory.

 

Academics

SCCC provides educational programs for transfer, career and personal growth. The school provides quality education with a focus on working closely with students, following their progress and assisting them in their choices. The school offers associate and certificate programs in a large number of fields.

Admissions and Financial Aid

SCCC offers open enrollment to residents of Schenectady County that have a high school diploma or equivalent. Financial aid is available to students. Eligibility is determined through the Free Application for Federal Student Aid, which should be completed and submitted. Additional information can be obtained on the SCCC website's financial aid or through the financial aid office.

SCCC participates in the NCJAA Region III and the Mountain Valley Conference.
