Asheboro Business College was the first junior college in North Carolina licensed to give out business degrees and Ashmore Business College was the first nationally accredited business college in North Carolina. In 1987 a second campus was opened in Charlotte, North Carolina. BCB is accredited by the Accrediting Council for Independent Colleges and Schools (ACICS) and awards certificates and diplomas.
