- If you are someone who is looking into going to esthetician school, DO NOT go here. This is a terrible school. I attended the esthetics course in 2009 and was very dissatisfied is the level of education they provided. My class, which consisted of only about 5 students, had a teacher that showed us everything that we had to learn in just 2 weeks. After that we were left to "make grades" by performing services on other students and/or clients. I was very excited for the first 2 weeks because I thought that's how the entire program would be. It wasn't until the middle of the 3rd week that I had chose the wrong school but by then it was too late because you only have 2 weeks after you start to get your money back. I think they knew what they were doing when they set up their curriculum. My class was very eager to learn so we would constantly ask our teachers if they would show us more things such as different massage techniques and they would always say "we only teach you what you need to learn for state board" or "wherever you get a job at they will teach you all that stuff". Well let me just say that I've been out of school for a full year now and I can't seem to find a job because I don't have the skills that spas are looking for. If I was an employer I would want to hire someone that needed as little training as possible. I even mentioned this to one of the instructors and she just shrugged her shoulders as if I was an idiot.
Moral of this story: Don't go to central state beauty academy!!!
