About
North Lake College, located in Irving, Texas, was founded in 1977 as part of the Dallas County Community College District. The college is a public 2 year institution, utilizing an open enrollment policy and offering a variety of programs to residents of Irving. The school maintains partnerships with students, community, business, and public schools. These partnerships serve to enrich the community be creating various opportunities and programs. The school operates three satellite campuses in addition to the main campus to better reach the community. Program availability at the satellite campuses is based on community needs.
North Lake College provides learning opportunities to recent graduates and adults looking to return to school. As part of the college's mission, North Lake College is constantly looking to see what resources and programs it can add to assist in the needs of its community. North Lake College also provides student counseling and guidance in order to assist with potential problem s and to assist in planning for their education. The goal of the school is to produce educated, responsible citizens, through quality education programs. To that end, the school maintains a high standard for its staff and faculty, challenging them to provide educational excellence to their students.
Academics
North Lake College offers a large number of programs resulting in diplomas, certificates or associate degrees. Additionally, the college offer adult education and continuing education courses, allowing adults to find educational opportunities locally. North Lake College provides the freshman and sophomore years of a college education and assists students wishing to transfer to a four year institution. Additionally, technical and career programs provide individuals with an education in a given field, preparing them for work at the entry level immediately after graduation.
The school believes in providing a quality education to its students, constantly upgrading and revising curriculums to remain current, ensuring that students receive the best education possible. The school also offers online, and a combination on campus hybrid educational opportunities, assisting students with difficult schedules find the time to advance their education.

Admissions and Financial Aid
Individuals interested in enrolling at North Lake College must be at least 18 years of age or have a high school diploma or equivalent. Individuals not meeting those criteria will be considered on a case by case basis. Applications for admission can be submitted at the campus or online.
Financial aid is available at North Lake College in the form of grants, scholarships, loans, and work study. Individuals interested in receiving financial aid must complete and submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Eligibility will be determined once the FAFSA is received by the Dallas County Community College District; the student is enrolled in a DCCCD school, and has submitted any additional documents requested by the financial aid office. Once completed, eligibility and awards will be determined and disbursed.
Athletics
The North Lake College Blazers participate in the Metro Athletic Conference of the NCJAA Division III. The school's athletic offerings include men's basketball and baseball, and women's volleyball and baseball.
On March 18, 2006 the men's basketball team won the 2006 National Junior College Athletic Association's Division III Championship, defeating the Gloucester County College (Sewell, New Jersey).
Extracurricular Activities
Clubs are a large part of student life at North Lake Community College. In addition to the large number of clubs currently active, the school allows for the formation of officially recognized clubs. Students can find or form clubs that suit their interests, finding like-minded individuals to discuss and participate in activities relating to those interests.

- North Lake College, created as a part of the Dallas County Community College District (DCCCD) in 1977, is a two-year public community college located in Irving, Texas. In addition to the Central Campus, three community campuses provide access to diverse communities in the service delivery area. The college utilizes an open-door admission policy which anticipates and responds to the educational, training, and employment needs of the community. The college prepares people for successful living and responsible citizenship through quality educational programs.
