About

The James Rumsey Technical Institute has its groundbreaking in 1969. The school is named for James Rumsey, a mechanical engineer and inventor from Shepherdstown, West Virginia. Located in Martinsburg, West Virginia, the school offers high school and post-secondary programs for individuals wishing to learn a vocation or career. JTRI serves three counties and has become an established and respected technical school in the area.

 

Academics

JTRI offers a diver number of classes in its high school and post-graduate programs. The high school programs covers general education as well as specific trades, while the post-secondary offers seven career oriented programs.

Admissions and Financial Aid

Post-Secondary programs have limited space for admissions, thus students interested in enrolling should do so early and be prepared to pay the application fee along with a sealed copy of their high school transcripts. Applicants must have a GED or high school diploma. Individual programs may have additional requirements. Students interested in financial aid should visit the financial aid portion of the schools website as well as complete and submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
