For nearly 49 years Texas Barber Colleges & Hair Styling Schools has been providing quality education regarding hair styling and care. TCB operates 7 campuses at 5 locations in 3 cities (Houston, Dallas and Conroe).The goal of TBC is to assist students in finding professional success in the workplace.

 

Academics

TBC provides several programs for students interested in hair styling and care. The highly experienced instructors will assist students in learning the various facets of barbering and cosmetology, while educating them in business practice and client care. Unlike other schools, TCB gauges progress through hours, students can invest less or more time as needed based on the flexibility of their schedule.

  • Barber Instructor (1000 Hours)
  • Cosmetology (1500 Hours)
  • Manicurist (600 Hours)
  • Shampoo Specialist (150 Hours)
  • Braiding Specialist (35 Hours)
  • Cosmetology Instructor (750/250 Hours)

 

Admissions and Financial Aid

Students interested in applying to TBC should fill out the online form for information and make an appointment to visit one of their five locations. Tours are available, and interested individuals are encouraged to questions students and faculty to determine if TBC is right for them.

 

Those seeking financial aid should meet with a financial aid counselor to plan out the payment for their education. All students seeking financial aid must fill out and submit a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).

  • Texas Barber Colleges and Hairstyling Schools' mission is:

    -To prepare students for examination by the State Board of Barber Examiners or the Texas Cosmetology Commission. This examination determines their fitness to receive a license to practice in the state.

    -To provide a complete educational and training program which includes all services that may be requested by the clientele of professional barber shops and salons.

    -To provide an educational and training program designed to attain occupational competency, which will lead to gainful employment.

    -To provide an early introduction to the fundamentals of the students' chosen field. This will enhance the opportunity for occupational competency.

    -To provide practical experience whenever possible through cooperative programs with business, industry and government, so students will have maximum advantages of a viable learning experience.
