- I am sure I go to school with the person who posted the other bad review and I am going to say the exact same things she did. For the $18,000 I just paid to go to hair school, I've gotten about twenty bucks worth. I can't cut hair, I can color (sort of), but that's because I already knew a lot about color before going in. I make plenty of mistakes, but no "learning leader" can ever just say, "Here's where you went wrong..." so I can learn from my mistakes. When I make a mistake, I have to try and figure out what happened, and that's almost impossible when you don't know anything.
So much time is wasted on the stupid Paul Mitchell culture and the "be Nice or Else" crap. One day, during texture class, we spent 3 hours watching youtube videos of old Paul Mitchell hair shows, and learned nothing about anything.
Every "learning leader" will answer the same question with a completely different answer. One will say use 10 volume and the other will say, "No- that's wrong. You should use..."
One "learning leader" taught me how to cross-check a cut the exact opposite way you're supposed to, causing me to get even more confused and screw up a hair cut.
Go to a different school. Seriously.

- If I can save one person from enrolling in this school I'll be happy. They don't teach anything, just know your going to be self taught. they give you a worksheet every month that you have to complete on your doll or a guest. They don't check your work. I feel like I wasted my money. 1st you'll go thru 6 Weeks of core which is basically boot camp of everything. They say oh don't worry if you don't learn everything cause once u get on the floor that's when you'll learn. Needless to say, I've been here 8 months and still don't know how to cut hair or understand color. we've only had 3 days of a hair specialist teach us how to cut hair, and that's out of 8 months. Its ridiculous. If you want the Paul Mitchell name backing you up on resumes but have no clue how to do hair then this is the school for you. Also know that you have to work on guest after 2 months, knowing you have no idea what your doing.
