- Just enrolled in the Medical Assistant program and my friend is doing the Veterinary Assistant program! We both love the campus and how friendly the staff is! We get to work on real people and animals and I am learning so much. I love this school and I am SO happy i chose this school over fortis!

- Northcoast is an excellent choice for anyone who wishes to get their foot in the door for a nursing education. I previously attended Kent State and all I can say is that they only cared about your money and helping people actually exceed. Northcoast is the complete opposite. The teachers are very good at making time to personally help you one-on-one, especially because the classes are small. This school is very professional, so dont' be late or miss ANY time! Be warned that the teachers are not going to spoon-feed you everything like Kent State...you have to actually STUDY to learn all the material for the tests, quizzes, and ultimately-- NCLEX! Go figure! For everyone complaining about the size of the school, tests, teachers, or strict attendance policies...Kent State is right down the road and they'll accept anyone who knows how to breathe. Stop complaining and actually try to find a job!

- Northcoast is a really good school for students who are looking for short-term, concentrated study. I was looking for a nursing training program that would qualify me in as short a time as possible to take the state licensing exam, and I found it at Northcoast. They seem pretty dedicated to giving you the training you need. Definitely recommend this school.

- Northcoast was the perfect school for me! I Attended the Medical Assistant program and graduated with Honors! The teachers and staff were wonderful and I had the best externship site and was offered a job a few months after I graduated!! I don't know what you are talking about when you say this place is unorganized and hires mean people! I would recommend this school to everyone!

- This school is awesome! Youngest out of your education what you put into it! Attend, don't be late, stay the entire class! If you can't get a job after graduating from north coast... It's your fault. Love this school! Glad i went! I was a transfer from a Ravenna school that just cared about my money, this school cared about me!

- Why are YOU posting your daughters resume on search engines? maybe the reason she cant find a job is because you do everything for her. I attended Northcoast and my class was full of people who did not want to do their own work and be responsible for their own future. I worked hard in my program and I was able to secure a position after my externship!! The Placement department still checks in with me and from admissions to financial aid I am happy with the service Northcoast provided. Do not take other peoples opinions for your own! If you really want to know how Northcoast is go up there and see for yourself! that is what I did and I could not be happier.

- I attended Northcoast's Medical Assisting Program and graduated in March of 2011. My class and a few classes before me participated in an Externship Program, which I felt gave us an advantage over previous graduates of NCMTA who did not have that opportunity. I was not hired at my externship site but several of my classmates were hired. The ladies in the Career Placement Office called me at least once a week for the 11 months it took me to secure a position in the Medical field. They were always available for any questions I had about positions, interview coaching, and anything else I needed. All the teachers there offered to be references for my job search. Is it the perfect school? No. But I believe that you get what you put in and it does not matter how much money you spend on an education if you don't work for it as well. It did take me almost 8 months to find my current position but I am thrilled with it and I feel like I was supported 100% along the way by both teachers and staff.

- I am in my second quarter of the Veterinary Assistant program at Northcoast Medical and I can't believe how much I have learned so far. I am very happy with the amount of hands on training that I have received and I am excited about finishing the program and getting a job in an animal hospital.

- I graduated from the LPN program in 2010 and found a job one month from when I got my License. A lot of my classmates were complaining (and I am sure they are some of the ones written on here) because they didn't put in enough effort to get a job or to do well in their class. I am a mother of 3 and I understand giving your best. Northcoast has good instructors and staff that cares. I recommend everyone I know to go there. You get out of education what you put in it! quit complaining and go find a job!!

- My daughter graduated march of 2009. It is now December of 2011 and she hasn't found a place that will hire her yet. Everyone that interviews her says the same thing Not enough experience. Parents think twice before you spend the money here. And forget about their job placement assistance. I put her resume on job search engines and got more help then their so called "placement program"

- I attend a day class at NCMTA and I am astonished to have found out an instructor in a class gave answers to a test for the simple fact all her students were failing and had some withdraw. What type of education is this. What are the rest of us paying for. It certainly isn't the answers. if it were an option to rate this school a zero I would.

- The teacher are so rude! There are teacher favorites in the class. They yell at you in front of other students. Almost everyone in two different classes are failing and they don't see a problem. It`s a joke! Look at all the other reviews not one positive!

- This place is horrible. You will not learn a thing and you won't be ready for any job in the field unless you are great at teaching things to yourself. You won't be learning from experienced practitioners, but just some person that they hired to read out of a book. For that matter it could be some bum who "will work for food." Don't go here, and certainly don't go here and expect to get a job. I've learned nothing!!!

- I wish I would have read these reviews before I enrolled in this school. You are all right! The teachers are not even teachers, they read right out of the book. You are self taught. The administration is extremely unprofessional. Do not take the LPN class, you will not learn a thing because they do not teach, they whiz through all the chapters and you have to basically memorize for a test, because you certainly will not learn anything. This school does not even qualify to rate!!!

- Look around you can get a LPN degree cheaper and at a better school with nicer staff, I wish I would have looked. Fortis college, Akron Institute, Kent state Stark, ATS, Akron U, Kent Sate, Akron School of Practical Nursing... so many options and if you choose this school that is the worst option.

- This school is terrible! The LPN program is worthless, go somewhere else!!! you do not get the education that you pay $18,000 for. I agree the teachers are too busy with their personal lives to be bothered. you are expected to take out garbage, put chairs up... They don't salt or shovel their sidewalks, The employees there basically just sit on their butts. Everything you learn has to be on your own time at home. They cant keep employees, they don't even want to be there.

- Let me tell you about this "academy." It operates out of a closed Denny's so the certificate that you receive (not a degree) is about worthless. Also, there are several very competitive actual medical degree granting programs located close by, such as Kent State and Akron, which would be much more worthwhile. Save your money and go to a different school to get a real education.

- I attended the Veterinary Assistant program at this school, and did not get the education that was promised. The teachers are too busy with their personal lives to teach properly, and the classes are too big for the rooms available. I was promised a small class, no more than 10 or 11 students, and ended up in a class of a little over 20 people. My grades were calculated wrong in my second quarter, and unrealistic memorization of medications was required. Two students in my class received secret lessons at the teacher's houses which my class did not discover until after third quarter. Those of us that asked for a letter of recommendation were told to "go home and type our own, then bring it in" and then the teachers would sign it. Only two people out of the class did this, the teachers would not type out letters of recommendation for anyone because they claimed that they were "too busy" to do this for anyone. Only 50% of my class was offered hands on training, and the other 50% of us (me included) were left in the dust, not knowing what was going on. The teachers had their favorite students, and if you were not one of them, you did not get anything out of the course. About half of the field trips were meaningless, and we were even required to attend an inhumane animal auction in Amish country that made me and a few of my classmates cringe at the terrible treatment of the animals. I owe money to the school and to their financial aid bank, but the school was unwilling to work with me when I was jobless. They told me basically to deal with it, and asked me to get money from other people to pay them. They were rude in their notices to me, and ignored me when I had my loans under unemployment deferment. If you attend this school, do not take the Veterinary Assistant program, it is a joke and you will not get a job. Every clinic I visited turned their noses up at me when I told them what school I was from, and they trusted me only to store syringes and mop the floors. Not worth a penny.
