About
Wolford College, located in Naples, Florida, specialized in post-graduate nursing education. The school provides graduate level education to registered nursing seeking to expand their skill base and become nurse anesthetists. The school received licensure from the state of Florida to begin operation in 2003, and gained the accreditation to offer a post masters doctoral degree in 2010. The school has multiple clinical sites in both Florida and Georgia.
Academics
Wolford College offers two degree programs. A master's of science in nurse anesthesia, and a post-master's doctor of nurse anesthesia practice. The master's program is 28 months long, providing clinical and academic education to interested registered nurses. The doctoral program is taken entirely online and is a 24 month long program. The doctoral program requires the nurse to have a master's degree prior to admission.
Admissions and Financial Aid
The master's program admissions process is a rolling one, admitting students year round based on availability. The admissions criteria requires students to have a bachelor's degree, GRE scores, all pertinent transcripts, to be licensed as a registered nurse in the state of Florida, the recommendations, resume, a statement of purpose essay, ACLS, BLS, and PALS certification (through the American Heart Association), and a copy of one's driver's license. The admissions requirements are mostly the same, though a master's degree is required, as is CRNA certification through the AANA.
Wolford College provides students with financial aid support through federal loans and other loans. Prior to disbursing the financial aid Wolford College will educate one in managing the loan and the responsibilities regarding it. Prior to graduating students who have accepted financial aid loans must go through an exit counseling session to assist in learning how to manage one's loans after college.
