Fort Scott Community College, located in Fort Scott, Kansas, is  a public two year institution that provides educational opportunities for residents of its service area. The school is the oldest community college in Kansas and was founded in 1919. The school maintains multiple campuses in order to better provide coverage and access to residents of the school's service area. The school also maintains multiple services and programs unrelated to academics,  including a strong intercollegiate athletic program.

Academics
Fort Scott Community College provides students with multiple programs and opportunities that allow students to choose the path that best reflect their goals. Academic transfer programs allow students to complete the first two years of a four year education, followed by transfer to a four year institution to complete the final two years and earn their bachelor's degree. Career training programs provide education in high demand fields and industries that allow students to enter the workforce as professionals. Programs take between one and two years to complete and result in a degree or certificate.
