Fort Scott Community College, located in Fort Scott, Kansas, is  a public two year institution that provides educational opportunities for residents of its service area. The school is the oldest community college in Kansas and was founded in 1919. Academics
Fort Scott Community College provides students with multiple programs and opportunities that allow students to choose the path that best reflect their goals. Academic transfer programs allow students to complete the first two years of a four year education, followed by transfer to a four year institution to complete the final two years and earn their bachelor's degree. Career training programs provide education in high demand fields and industries that allow students to enter the workforce as professionals. Programs take between one and two years to complete and result in a degree or certificate.

Admissions and Financial Aid
Fort Scott Community College allows any individual who is eighteen years of age or has earned a high school diploma to enroll by completing the application and paying all fees as part of the school's open enrollment policy. Students should supply transcripts and test scores, as well as participate in new student enrollment and meet with a counselor prior to registration. Financial aid is available in the form of loans, grants and scholarships and are awarded based on need as determined by the information provided by the student in the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
