Birthingway College of Midwifery is a school that specializes in Midwifery programs and related areas located in Portland, Oregon. It started as Birthingway Midwifery School and it was eventually renamed Birthingway Midwifery Center to its current designation in 2003. 

Accredited by the Midwifery Education Accreditation Council, Birthingway College of Midwifery supports and adopts the Midwives Alliance of North America (MANA) standards and practices. This school is proud to have met and even exceeded the academic standards of the Oregon Midwifery Council and the Oregon State Board of Direct Entry Midwifery. 

The program offerings of this school are anchored on the Biodynamic model that provides basis for individualized and woman-centered care. Students are taught of traditional knowledge and practices combined with modern therapeutic approaches. 

Midwifery program can be completed in three years but students can opt to continue another year for general education to earn a Bachelor of Science in Midwifery (BSM) degree. Training programs are also available for Labor Doulas, Postpartum Doulas, Childbirth Educators, Breastfeeding Educators, and Lactation Consultants. Each program has specific tools designed based on the type of service necessary for a certain discipline. 

Birthingway College of Midwifery encourages diversity and value relationship built on kindness, integrity and respect. It allows students to develop intuition, empiricism, and analytical thinking which is essential to becoming an excellent midwifery professional.
