Established in 1904, Phillips Beth Israel School of Nursing has greatly contributed in the advancement of the nursing profession. PBISM is authorized by The New York State Education Department Office of Higher Education and the Professions and approved by The New York State Education Department for the Training of Veterans. It is also accredited by The National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission and The New York State Board of Regents New York State Education Department.

Located at the Chelsea section of Manhattan, PBISN is part of Beth Israel Medical Center where students earn hands-on clinical experience. With a humanistic framework, students are provided with a strong academic foundation to jump start a career in the healthcare industry.

To maintain high quality education, the curriculum in this school is constantly being updated.  PBISN fosters an environment that promotes the growth of each student with small class size and dedicated faculty.

At PBISN, students can finish an Associate in Applied Science degree in two years. The program involves extensive clinical training at the Beth Israel Medical Center and in other clinical facilities. Moreover, in partnership with the Pace University, this school offers liberal arts co-requisite courses. PBISN also allows its graduates to obtain credits for transfer to New York University and Excelsior College through articulation agreements.

In the most recent reported year, 99% of the graduates have passed the National Council Licensure Exam-RN (NCLEX-RN).
