Western Pennsylvania Hospital School of Nursing develops its students to be nurses of today’s exciting pace of healthcare environment. The school provides you the solid foundation and clinical experience needed in the challenging professional career of nursing.
It offers a 22-month program for RN diploma with on-site onsite articulation with Clarion University of Pennsylvania for Associate of Science in Allied Health degree. It is the only Pittsburgh hospital-based program with on-site housing on-site daycare.
To apply, you must complete the Application for Admissions to The Western Pennsylvania Hospital and Clarion University of Pa., read the Disclosure Statements, sign and send the forms with the non-refundable fee of $50. There are also other school requirements you have to comply.
You will experience the STAR program- a “virtual hospital” simulation program, a variety of nursing specialties like OB, Pediatrics and Medical-Surgical, and diverse clinical/ hospital scenarios in emergency room, operating room, home health and neonatal intensive care.
Compared to enrolling in 4-year nursing programs, you will have early introduction to direct patient care, more clinical/hospital hands-on experiences, smaller classes and individualized attention in a 2-year program. It will let you earn RN and enter the workforce faster. And while working, your employer may even help pay to continue for higher nursing degrees.
