Located in Piketon, Ohio is Pike County Career Technology Center (PCCTC). PCCTC offers technical education for students in high school, adult education, and courses in adult literacy. Most of PCCTC programs are accredited through the Ohio State Board of Education. In supporting local economic development, PCCTC hopes to encourage adult learners in achieving higher academic and career skills. Lifelong learning leads to life changing results. PCCTC’s mission is to create a quality workforce that operates ethically in a diverse environment.

Adult Workforce Education consists of career enhancement and development courses that are tuition based. Generally offered in the evening, these programs are created to help students gain better employment and enhance their career goals. Adult Workforce Programs are offered in:

  • Practical Nursing
  • Healthcare
  • EMT
  • Firefighting
  • Industry
  • Career Enhancement

Applicants must meet basic requirements including proof of high school diploma or GED. Financial Aid and grants are available for certain fulltime program concentrations. PCCTC also offers a variety of services for students. Free classes are offered for anyone wishing to improve their reading proficiency and learning skills. The courses include free prep courses for taking the GED and passing entrance exams needed in order to enter technician programs. Courses are also offered for those wishing to obtain a CDL license. Along with PCCTC services that are provided includes the popular Blackboard technology used by many colleges for online coursework.
