The Tennessee College of Applied Technology - Hartsville began opening its doors to students in 1965. Located a mile east of Hartsville City in Tennessee, the school is set on a beautiful 20-acre valley near the Old Hickory Lake and the Cumberland River. The school is set to help meet the needs of the local students and employees who are seeking for occupational and technical training that will help them land on great employment opportunities.

Currently, the school offers comprehensive technical programs including automotive technology, business systems technology, drafting and CAD technology, electronics, industrial maintenance, machine tool technology, practical nursing, welding technology and work ethics program. Moreover, the school also offers distance learning education by offering certificate programs in allied health, business systems and computer information. 

Similar with the other schools governed by the Tennessee Board of Regents,  the tuition fee rate in TTC-Hartsville still remains at $183 per credit hour as imposed since last academic year (2012-2013). On the other hand, students who wish to transfer to a local community college or university can enjoy the benefits of having their schools accredited under the Tennessee Technology Center Systems. The choices of colleges and universities where students can take higher education include Tennessee University, King University and Roane State Community College to name a few.
