I've had a great experience in my first year at OCOM. It's a challenging school, but they have strong faculty (many are full-time) and excellent resources for preparing students to be future practitioners. My only criticism of the school and curriculum is that the rigor leaves little time to work during the academic year.

I'm in my first year at OCOM, but spend quite a bit of time visiting and researching schools throughout the west. OCOM was easily the nicest in a number of ways - location in the middle of an interesting city, a professional feel, an active clinic, and students who feel a real sense of pride in the school. All of this has proven to be true, and I couldn't be happier with my choice of schools. If you are considering OCOM, be sure that you're making your choice seriously - it's a very challenging academic school.

While they have fantastic advertising, the school falls short on a regular basis in the area of ADA accommodations. The professors are hit or miss as is the school staff and supervisors at their clinics.

I love how at OCOM there is a sense of tight knit community. I could call anyone that works or goes to OCOM if I had a flat tire and was stuck on the side of the road, even if we don't have a deep relationship, outside of OCOM. The care and support is amazing. Everyone knows each other by face and name, even the administration/instructors takes pride in knowing students names-- it is a place unlike any of my experiences at other Universities. There is a special "vibe" when you walk in the door. Intelligent, experienced, talented, open, engaging, supportive faculty. Friendly, personable, communicative administration and staff. I'm not surprised OCOM was just awarded #1 AOM graduate school in the nation. Couldn't be more happy with my education and choice to come here!

I'm in my second year of study at OCOM. I made a very intentional decision to attend an AOM college (Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine) rather than medical school. I'm certainly pleased that I made the choice to study at OCOM. It's an academically rigorous program, and the academics are supported by excellent clinical work and engaged alumni. The location - Portland - makes a huge difference as well. Residents genuinely embrace the medicine we're learning, providing huge opportunities to refine our practice.

I visited 4 different schools (NCNM in Portland, PCOM in San Diego, and SWAC in Boulder) before deciding on OCOM for my Chinese Medicine studies. I could not have chosen a better school. This school has a great faculty that cares for the students, one of the best Chinese Medicine programs in the country, and its location in Portland, OR is perfect. A mecca for alternative healers, educational opportunities abound in this affordable city, rich in culture, with perfect weather for studying.
