AIB College of Business is an independent, nonprofit institution of higher learning located in Des Moines, Iowa. It is a small school with about 1,000 students. It was founded in 1921 as American Institute of Business. In 1941, the school gained recognition as a nonprofit institution. The school became accredited by the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Institutions of Higher Education in 1986. In 2000, the school changed its name to AIB College of Business to better demonstrate its mission.

Admissions Information

All prospective students are required to submit an application, official copy of high school diploma or equivalent, and official transcripts from previously attended postsecondary institutions. AIB requires a GPA of at least 2.5. Students who do not meet the GPA requirement must have an ACT score of 18 or AIB examination score of 11. All new students must attend a mandatory orientation where they can register for classes, obtain financial aid information, purchase books and supplies, and meet fellow students.
