I just graduated from King's 2 weeks ago with a diploma in Medical Assisting. The placement department has been sending me on interviews, and I have already been offered a job with a large hospital in Charlotte. King's is more expensive than a community college and it is true that credits do NOT transfer, but this is a fast track program. I was looking for a school that would prepare me for employment in a short period of time, and the cost was well worth it for me. After 8 months of classroom training, I was well prepared for my 8 week externship. The curriculum taught is exactly what is needed to be prepared to work in a medical office. The instructors are very knowledgeable in the subjects that they teach. They are all required to have at least a Masters Degree. King's College is well known in the medical community for putting out the most well prepared and knowledgeable MAs. I would definitely recommend this school to anyone who is looking for a fast track program with a reputable school.

10 years later, still owe $14k. I have paid down half, but the lending practices for student loans is predatory. I was told $150 a month for 15 years, I was told 6% interest rate. What I got was 15% interest for 30 years, ($400 a month) until I refinanced with a bank... it wasn't Sallie Mae which I signed the papers for but they switched it to their private loans when their "fax machine wasn't working come back in an hour", and I signed all the paperwork at 17, without parents present, because they would not let me return to class. If you miss 3 classes in a term they kick you out. I have never heard from placement about a job when I was trying to work with them and I was 2nd in my class and on the deans list consistently.
