I attended OTC from 2010-2011. I took Auto Body with Custom Paint and Graphics and also got an Associates degree in Applied Science. It was an 18 month program that was 4 days a week with 7hrs a days. Classes were broke up into 3 month increments. You started the program with safety courses and dive deeper into each field as you progressed. The class you start with is typically the class you end with but sometimes there are overlaping classes and you share a 3 month class. My class started out with 35 students and finished with 17 due to people not passing, drop outs and other concerns. I felt the classes were adequate for someone being introduced o the field with no experience. Any prior on the job training or tech school knowledge pushed people to believe they were not learning in the calsses. I, being one of the few who had no experience in the field was pleased that they covered nearly all the basics. I graduated top of my class at the end of the 18 months and was fortunate to find a job close to home in my field. The student housing is in Parma but i opted to get an appt. From the beginning in North Olmsted and am happy i did as many people were disappointed with their stay in parma. Overall i had a great expierence. With a great understanding of the auto body field. I own 2 shops of my own and am now planning to open more in the future. I do know most of my instructors no longer work on campus but i still talk with them to this day if i ever have a question about something.

This school is joke. We had 45 degree classrooms. They took every check I have got. The teacher said he doesn't know anything about trucks. We cleaned after the constructions workers. I owe $25,000 and no truck job.

Take it from a student that went there. All they care about is their money. Everything is out of date and broken. The "instructors" are nothing but a bunch of retired mechanics that don't know the first thing about teaching. If there is something you don't like about the school and you speak your mind they will kick you out and keep all your money so they can buy more neon signs.

I can only tell you about the auto/diesel but most instructors are out of work mechanics who needed a job. They have no teaching experience and are just waiting for a better job to come along. A typical day in the classroom is taking turns reading out of your book. You might also watch YouTube videos that probably wont relate to anything your trying to learn. If, and it's a big IF you get an instructor that actually cares and has teaching experience then you may learn if your not held down by your classmates. Some of the people who attend are lucky to read at a middle school level. As for your hands on experience its going to be out of date and wont amount to much really.

OTC is NOT the school for your child. As a parent, I can tell you and warn you to DO YOUR HOMEWORK, and follow your gut!!! This school is all about appearance. They will take your money and if you complain or question something they will throw your child out of school. This school is GREAT at using intimidation to make your child feel in adequate. Trust me, DO NO send your children to this school!

OTC is not what it proclaims to be. There are a lack of dedicated instructors with no agenda they must follow. Watching unrelated movies is not what these students are paying their good money for. Classes should be organized with relevant information to prepare for their careers. Also, they need TOOLS to work with. How can they prepare if they don't have adequate experiences? Do not fall for their family approach, as they do not care. they are just concerned about becoming rich themselves.
