Lakes Region Community College, located in Laconia, New Hampshire, was founded in 1967. The school expanded in 1980, adding additional buildings and programs for its students. The schools continued growth has resulted in long term plans to address increased enrollment and the addition of new programs that reflect the needs of the community. The school maintains a low student to teacher ratio as part of its mission to provide quality education for its students and residents of the Lakes Region.
Academics
Lakes Region Community College offers programs that prepare students for academic transfer or career training for entry into the workforce. Students interested in academic transfer will complete the first two years of a four year education at LRCC, followed by applying for transfer to a four year institution in order to complete a bachelor's degree. Transfer requirements vary by school and students should meet with an academic adviser in order to develop a curriculum that best meets the criterion of the school or schools. Career training programs provide a blend of theoretical and practical education in order to provide students with the skills and abilities necessary to become a professional in one's area of study. Programs take between one and two years to complete and allow for obtaining work in the entry level position upon completion.

Admissions and Financial Aid
Lakes Region Community College is a public, two year, open enrollment institution that allows any individual to enroll through the submission of an application and the payment of tuition. Students should supply transcripts and tests scores and may be required to take a placement exam prior to registration. Participation in orientation and meeting with a counselor are encouraged.
Financial aid is available in the form of loans, grants and scholarships. Students must complete and submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), which is used by the school to determine need, aid program eligibility and the final awards package. Students must maintain a strong academic performance and reapply for aid prior to each academic year.
