The anthropology program at Los Medanos College prepares students for careers as a contract archaeologist, corporate analyst, corporate anthropologist, editor, educational planner, forensic specialist, government analyst, medical researcher, museum curator, park ranger, or social worker. Los Medanos College

Los Medanos College is located on 120 acres in Pittsburg, CA. The school has a new campus and facilities. Classroom space has expanded by 50% since 2006. The art classroom was completely remodeled in 2010. The nursing and emergency medical technician classroom and lab space is now complete. Student enrollment is approximately 10,000.

Students at Los Medanos College love the personal attention they receive which helps them to achieve their goals. The average class size is 35 students. The student body is diverse and you will meet people of all ages trying to further their career and develop the skills needed to succeed in life.

Pittsburg is about 40 miles east of San Francisco. One can drive to the college on Highway 4. The Brentwood Center is situated 14 miles southeast of the main campus.

The college offers many outstanding majors that lead to an Associate’s Degree. Programs are offered in nursing, English, math, fire technology, physical and biological sciences, business, child development, administration of justice, process technology, electrical and instrumentation technology.

Tuition is $46 per unit for California residents and $201 for non-residents.

Childcare is offered to students as well as staff, and community members. Other student services are offered including counseling and tutoring. Services are available for disabled students and aid them in completing their degree. The school also works with veterans and helps them with their tradition from military life to the classroom.

Los Medanos College is accredited by the Accrediting Commission for Community and Junior Colleges of the Western Association of Schools and Colleges.
