About
Norco College, located in Norco, California, is a public two year institution founded in 1991, though plans for its establishment began in the 1980's. The school was built to service the communities of Norco and Corona, and is part of the Riverside Community College District. The school was given 141 acres of land previously held by the United State's Navy and the The Hotel Norconian. The school enrolled over 3000 students its first year, and has expanded since, currently enrolling over 10,000 students annually. In 2010 the school was given full college accreditation by the Accrediting Commission for Community and Junior Colleges (ACCJC), becoming the 112th school to join the California Community College System.

Academics
Norco College offers a large number of courses that result in degree or certificate, taking between one and two years to complete and allowing students to choose the program that best reflects his or her goals. Academic transfer programs allow students to complete the first two years of a four year education, followed by the application to a four year college or university to transfer earned credits and complete a bachelor's degree. Individuals applying to public institutions in California will have their transfer facilitated through agreements in place between the university systems and the CCCS that allows students who meet certain academic requirements to be guaranteed entry. Individuals applying to private or out of state schools will have to meet the requirements for transfer of the desired school or schools and it is recommended the student meet with a counselor to develop a curriculum that does so.

Career and technical programs allow students to develop the skills and abilities necessary for employment as qualified professionals. Students will be trained through classroom and practical courses that simulate real world environments and provide the experience necessary to practice and employ techniques learned throughout the program. Students will earn a certificate or degree and will be qualified for entry into the work for upon completion, capable of obtaining entry level positions. These programs are generally offered in high demand fields, usually reflective of the needs of the community.

Admissions and Financial Aid
Norco College is an open enrollment institution that allows any individual that meets the school's minimum requirements for admissions to enroll. Interested persons may do so through the completion of the application for admission, followed by the submission of related material such as transcripts and standardized test scores. Students may also be required to take a placement exam prior to registration. Students are encouraged to participate in new student orientation their first semester to become acquainted with campus life and to meet with an academic advisor to discuss program enrollment and choose an appropriate curriculum.

Financial aid is available in the form of loans, grants and scholarships. Students in need of financial assistance must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), the resulting information from which will be used to determine a student's financial needs and aid program eligibility. Additionally, California residents may be eligible for CalGrants, which are awarded on the basis of need as well as academic excellence. Due to new federal regulations, aid recipients may be asked at random to provide additional financial information which will be cross checked with the FAFSA to ensure accuracy. Aid must be reapplied for prior to the start of each academic year.
