
Southern Arkansas University Tech, located in Camden, Arkansas, was founded in 1967 through the passage of an act of the Arkansas Legislature. The goal of the school is to provide technical education for a growing workforce. By 1975 the school was joined with Southern Arkansas University, providing associate level degrees to students. Currently the school maintains a two year curriculum and provides a variety of educational programs and options in order to allow for flexible scheduling and continued education.
Academics
Southern Arkansas University Tech offers a selection of programs that provide career training and workforce development opportunities. These programs assist in skill development and specialization in one's chosen field. Programs take approximately two years to complete and result in the issuance of an associate degree. Students wishing to transfer may do so through the pursuit of a general education degree, and will find transfer to Southern Arkansas University more easily than other schools.

Admissions and Financial Aid
SAU Tech is an open admissions college that allows any student who completes the application for admission to enter. Students must supply previous transcripts and test scores, pay fees and take a placement exam prior to registration. Students should also participate in orientation and meet with a counselor to discuss program enrollment and curriculum. Financial aid is available in the form of loans, grants and scholarships and is awarded based on need. A student's need is determined through the completed Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), the information from which is used by the school to form an financial aid packet. The FAFSA must be submitted prior to each academic year.
