
Since its foundation in 1908, St. Francis Medical Center School of Nursing has built an exemplary reputation for academic excellence as lived by its faculty, staff and graduates. Recognizing the fact that nursing is a profession that requires clinical skills and compassion, this school offers quality nursing education in an environment that fosters caring and compassion. Its campus located at 601 Hamilton Ave., Trenton, NJ in the Crean Hall is equipped with classrooms, nursing skills clinical laboratories, computer and audiovisual centers, and the Health Sciences Library.
Nursing programs offered in this college are Extended, Generic, and the LPN –RN. These programs can be finished in two to three years. And through the affiliation with Mercer County Community College, students can earn a Diploma in Nursing from this school, as well as an Associate in Science degree from Mercer County Community College. The curriculum is dynamic and fast-paced with 40 credits in professional nursing courses and 30 general education credits provided by St. Francis Medical Center School of Nursing and Mercer County Community College, respectively.
St. Francis Medical Center serves as the main clinical training venue for the three programs, but there are also other clinical facilities used for these trainings to give students vast opportunities for learning. These are the St. Christopher's Hospital for Children, Hampton Behavioral Health Center, University Medical Center at Princeton, Capital Health, Centra State and clinics. Students are also trained in nursery and grade school settings.
