The Roane-Jackson Technological Center is located in Leroy, West Virginia. Roane-Jackson Technical Center is dedicated to improving students’ academic and workplace skills while preparing them for post-secondary education and/or the work force by providing meaningful technical training. Accredited by the North Central Association on School Improvement, the Center serves secondary students from High School and also adults from a wide area of west-central West Virginia.
At Roane-Jackson Technical Center you can choose from 16 secondary career and technical programs. In addition, Math, English, and Civics classes are available for all secondary students. The Center also offers two full time post-secondary programs along with specialized evening courses. The post-secondary adult programs are:
- Medical Office Technology
- Medical (Practical) Nursing
The Medical Office Technology is an adult program which focuses on the business aspect of the health industry. The Medical Nursing program provides an educational experience designed to produce a well-trained competent practical nurse that can provide quality-nursing care to clients of all ages. Instructors are often in contact with medical professions in the area and commonly refer recent graduates to medical facilities seeking new employees.
Both programs immerse students in real life learning environment with the ability to gain experience working in clinics and the community. Applicants must hold a high school diploma or equivalent before entering the programs. Financial Aid is available for students who qualify.
