The Tennessee College of Applied Technology - Newbern is governed by the Tennessee Board of Regents. It is a technical school that aims to produce excellent and competitive students that are adept in working at highly in-demand industries. The school is accredited by the Council on Occupational Education and ranks as the number one supplier of qualified workforce in the city of Newbern in Tennessee.

Since the school is governed by the Tennessee Board of Regents, the tuition fee remains the same across all technical schools under the system. Since the academic year of 2012 to 2013, the tuition fee rate remains at $183 for basic programs while programs such as practical nursing is $100 higher than the flat rate.

On the other hand, most graduates from TTC-Newbern seek to continue higher education in community colleges and state universities. Fortunately, the Tennessee Board of Regents also governs six state universities and 14 community colleges so students will find it easier to transfer their credits in the future.
