Western Technology Center had its beginning in 1970. The campus at 621 Sooner Drive Burns Flat, Oklahoma 73624 has become a home to the Oklahoma Space Industry Development Authority and the Oklahoma School of Science and Mathematics in 2005 and 2009, respectively. WTC has three other campuses in Sayre, Weatherford and Hobart. 

Dedicated to its mission to educate people for success, WTC provides workforce training for students and customized training programs for business and industries. Full-time Programs offered at the Burns Flat campus include Administrative and Information Support; Automotive Collision Report; Automotive Services; Construction; Cosmetology; Health Careers, Therapeutic Services; Information Support Services and Networking; Medium/Heavy Diesel Truck Repair; Practical Nursing; Printing Technology; Restaurant Food and Beverage Technology; Service Careers; Web and Video Communications; and Welding and Metal Fabrication. 

Students who wish to finish higher education and learn new knowledge or skills can opt to take Adult short-term courses. WTC also helps business and industry through Agricultural Business Management, Business Entrepreneurial Services, Fire Safety Training and Training for Industry designed based on the specific needs of a company. 

At WTC, students have the advantage to use several resources that would help them succeed in their academic journey. The Student Services office offers several programs aimed at helping students achieve their goals. Similarly, the academic center provides individualized support for students through assessment, tutoring and training services.

For graduate students, the Career Resources office assists in job preparation, provides relevant job information and helps in job placement at least six months after finishing a course. This school also encourages participation in several organizations and involvement in numerous events and activities.
