Center for Employment Training Schools

Center for Employment Training, commonly referred to as CET, is a system of schools that provide career training programs for interested individuals. The school is comprised of seventeen campuses in five states, with most of the schools being located within the state of California. The school was established in 1967 to provide educational opportunities for migrant workers coming into the United States. Over time the program was expanded, and its success relative to other similar schools was so great that it received funding to replicate its training model in other states.

Students who attend a CET campus will learn to work in a given field or industry through the tutelage of experienced and professional instructors. Facilities are designed to emulate real world settings in order to familiarize and acquaint students with environments that they will be working in. Upon completion students will receive a certificate that demonstrates competency for potential employers. The school primarily deals with disadvantaged populations as part of its mandate for improving social conditions.

Programs offered include:

  • Accounting
  • Culinary Arts
  • Early Childhood Education
  • Medical Assistant
