City College of San Francisco is a two-year community college. It consists of eleven campuses; the Ocean Avenue campus being the primary. It is the second largest collegiate institution overall and the largest junior and community college in the US. Its motto: The truth shall make you free.
History
City College of San Francisco was founded in 1935. The Ocean Ave. Campus opened its doors in 1940. It established the first Women's Studies program in the US and was the first educational institution to offer aircraft mechanics training for women. In 1936, the hotel and restaurant management programs were established. City College of San Francisco has the oldest program that emphasizes the culinary arts. The school has a specific gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender community.

Community
There are literally hundreds of things to see and do in San Francisco. Take a ride on a trolley or the cable cars for stunning views of the city. Visit Union Square, which was one of San Francisco's original parks and is now surrounded by hotels and elegant shops. Take a stroll down Lombard Street just below Hyde Street for a "crooked" walking experience.
If you enjoy stunning views, see the city and the bay from Coit Tower. For a cultural experience, visit Chinatown and explore the alleys and shops.
Of course everyone should see and walk on The Golden Gate Bridge. The architecture is amazing and it's an experience you'll never forget.
There are many free venues in San Francisco. Some are only free on certain days of the month, while others are continually free. These include:
