About
Los Angeles Trade and Technical College is a 2 year postsecondary educational institution situated in the heart of downtown Los Angeles Founded in 1925 as the Frank Wiggins Trade School, LATTC became a trade-technical junior college in 1954 and joined the Los Angeles community college district in 1969. Out of the nine two-year institutions that comprise the Los Angeles community college district, LATTC is the oldest. The school is in the process of a multimillion dollar renovation and is adding buildings to modernize certain departments as part of the goal to maintain and update facilities and curricula to meet and exceed the needs and expectations of the community.
Academics
LATTC provides students with the technical and professional educational options that will help in establishing a career and meeting academic goals. LATTC offers associate's degrees and vocational certificates and offers transfer programs for students looking to continue their education at a four year institution but save on costs. Career and technical programs provide students with the skills and education necessary to immediately enter the workforce as fully qualified professionals. Additionally, short programs (one year or less) for certification are offered for specialized training. Programs are also available for high school students who wish to start their college education early, allowing them to obtain a head start on their career.

Admission and Financial Aid
Admission into LATTC requires the completion of the online application and payment of fees, after which the student is assigned a number ID And proceeds to register for classes. Class enrollment gives priority to those who register early. The deadline for enrollment is one day prior to the start of classes. Students should submit all relevant documents and transcripts prior to registration.
Financial aid is available in the form of federal and state grants, loans and scholarships. Filling out the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) form and providing all pertinent information will help a student identify if they qualify for financial aid. Scholarships may be offered through the school or through a third party and requiring a separate application. Scholarships may be awarded for a variety of reasons as based on the purpose and goal of the scholarship.
Athletics
LATTC participates in intercollegiate sports in the southwest conference against ten other schools. Athletic programs provide discipline and teamwork , as well as foster a healthy environment for competition and allow for students and teachers to take pride in their team's accomplishments. Students interested in participating in an athletic programs should visit the athletic department to obtain tryout dates and times.

The school colors are violet and gold, and the mascot is the Beaver.
Clubs and Organizations
The LATTC Associated Student Organization oversees all chartered clubs operating on campus. The school holds a rush at the start of every year in order to make individuals aware of the clubs and to promote memebership and participation. Student organizations and clubs allow for individuals with similar interests to meet and communicate ideas, assist one another, and accomplish tasks and goals as outlined by the clubs mission. Students are also encouraged to form their own club. requiring the membership of ten students in order to be officially recognized. Clubs and organizations assist in the development of bonds that often extend beyond the campus, and sometimes well past graduation.
