About
West Coast Ultrasound Institute, located in Beverly Hills, California, was established in 1998 by Dr. Neville Smith and Myra Chason in order to fill the need of a radiological imaging school. The school's main campus is located in Beverly Hills, with a satellite campus in Ontario, California, and a branch campus in Phoenix, Arizona. The school is designed to produce educated professionals in the field of sonography.
Academics
West Coast Ultrasound Institute offers several programs in medical imaging. The school offers short term and long term educations, resulting in diplomas or degrees. The school primarily deals with medical imaging, specifically through ultrasound methods, such as diagnostic medical sonography and cardiovascular sonography. Additionally the school offers Magnetic resonance imaging and nursing programs. Several short term programs include NCLEX preparation classes RN/VN continuing education courses.
Advanced courses are available, providing an in depth understanding of pediatric cardiac ultrasound and congenital heart disease.
Admissions and Financial Aid
Individuals interested in enrolling at West Coast Ultrasound Institute must have a high school diploma or GED, or a translated diploma from their respective country. Additionally, students will be asked to write a five hundred word essay and obtain a passing score on the Wonderlic exam. Individuals that submit a completed application and associated fees, will then be subject to a background check.
Financial aid is available to eligible students. Eligibility is determined by the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Students interested in receiving aid should complete the form, after which a student aid report will be made demonstrating if and which forms of aid one qualifies for.
