History

Founded in 1997 by Marc Johnson, the University of Antelope Valley was originally a training center offering classes in CPR and first aid. The facilities continued to expand until 2009, where UAV became an accredited institution offering associates, bachelors and masters degrees. The school is continuing to expand, with plans to offer a wider variety of educational programs and expand the campus.

 

Academics

UAV offers an increasing number of programs from certificate and continuing education courses to master's degrees.  UAV places a high amount of importance on education, offering educational opportunities to the global community in order to produce qualified individuals.

Admissions and Financial Aid

UAV has an online application to begin the admissions process. Interested students must take an assessment test and provide proof of identification. Some admissions policies will vary based on degree pursued. Financial aid is available and all students are encouraged to pursue financial aid opportunities by meeting with a counselor at the financial aid office.

 

Athletics

The UAV Pioneers have a baseball and softball team that play in the NCSA Southern Pacific Conference.

  • It is the mission of Antelope Valley Medical College to provide quality instruction in allied health programs. Our facility is structured to make our students learning environment as realistic as possible. Our instructors are highly qualified, experienced and professional. We believe this allows our students to become extremely successful.
    We at Antelope Valley Medical College, over the years have provided quality instruction in Medical Assisting, Medical Billing, Phlebotomy and Emergency Medical Technology. Our programs have continued to grow, in large part, to the dedication of our Advisory Board. Our Advisory Board, which consists of two Physicians, a State Fire Marshall, a Registered Nurse and the owner of a BLS Provider ambulance company, keeps Antelope Valley Medical College aware of any current hiring trends, new equipment, the latest Pre-hospital care treatment measures and any other pertinent information.
    Antelope Valley Medical College takes a great deal of pride in only employing those instructors who possess a minimum of 3 years of occupational experience in the subject matter being taught. Instructors must also be in possession of an instructor's certification from the State of California and/or the County of Los Angeles.
