Located at 65 Pleasant Street in Upton, Massachusetts, Blackstone Valley Regional Vocational High School offers adult training in the evening for individuals wishing to work as a licensed practical nurse. The program, which is offered part-time, over a course of 60 weeks, allows students to obtain LPN training in the evenings.
Meeting the state’s mandates set by the Board of Registration for nurses, the program features 1,090 hours of instruction, with at least 945 hours directed toward nursing courses and 540 hours devoted to clinical practice.
The program, which concentrates on geriatric care, is held three times weekly, with one weekend per month devoted to clinical training. Students typically meet from 3:50 p.m. in the afternoon until 10:10 p.m.in the evening. The required weekend clinical is offered during the day or evening hours.
