Ilisagvik College, located in Barrow, Alaska, is a two-year institution that offers a vast array of opportunities to the residents of the United States’ northernmost community.
Those who attend Ilisagvik College will have the option to choose whether they will participate in an associate’s degree program, a certificate program, or participate in a preparation program for various teaching careers.
Ilisagvik College offers students who want to move on to a four-year institution, the ability to earn their Associates of Arts and Science degree. Those who do not wish to earn a two-year degree can participate in one of many career certificate programs offered at IC. These career certificate programs include: business, information technology, emergency services, vocational trades, and many, many more.
Also offered at IC is a very extensive distance learning program. This program employs the use of MyCampus/Blackboard, as well as teleconferences and satellite classes.
Ilisagvik College also offers community and workforce development classes to employers who want to further the education of their employees. These workforce development classes include: asbestos abatement, team effectiveness, sexual harassment prevention, conflict management, food worker certification, supervisor training, Adobe, CAD training, and more.
All necessary admissions and registration forms are available online for the convenience of the students. Applications can be completed online and printed to be presented in person or by mail to the IC campus.
