Herzing University is a privately owned career institution that operates twelve locations in eight states. The school was founded in 1965 as a computer programming school in Milwaukee, after which it quickly expanded through the acquisition of other schools. The school has received several name changes, having started as Herzing Institute, then Herzing College, and eventually Herzing University to better reflect the programs and degree levels offered. The school also offers online education as part of its evolving educational offerings.

Herzing University offers large number of programs that prepare individuals for a career in a high demand field. Programs are taught by experienced and qualified faculty that prepares students through practical application of skills in preparation for employment. Herzing University is located at 1600 South Arlington Street, Suite 100 in the city of Akron. This campus has a graduating class size which is close to ninety-four students annually.
