History
Northwest Kansas Technical College, located in Goodland, Kansas, was founded in 1964 as the Northwest Kansas Vocational School. The school changed names as part of a 2001 Kansas state initiative to change all technical schools into technical colleges. NWKTC is on the cutting edge of educational trends through programs like the iPad initiative and the hybrid technology training for the auto technology program. NWKTC has grown from 1 building and 7 programs to over 20 buildings, 14 programs, and over 40 online and evening courses.
