
Established in 1966-67, Suwannee-Hamilton Technical Center is a post-secondary technical training and adult education institution under the authority of the Suwannee County School Board. The twenty acre campus is located in Live Oak, with easy access from all over the U.S.
Suwannee Tech offers about a dozen technical training programs in Masonry, Phlebotomy, Practical Nursing, Culinary Arts and Cosmetology etc. GED preparation, high school credit program and basic skills remediation program are available through the comprehensive Learning Resource Center. Workforce Education courses are offered to individuals and businesses that are already employed and need advanced training.
The Center also offers career counseling and job placement assistance which leads to a high success rate in placing its graduates in relevant occupations. Suwannee Tech disburses loans to eligible students and collaborates with local agencies such as Workforce Development and WAGES to facilitate targeted populations, such as physically handicapped, displaced homemakers, single parents, and academically/economically disadvantaged individuals.
